Q: What are some advantages of being a member of a credit union?

A: Some advantages of being a member of a credit union are, lower rates on loans, less fees & personal small town service. Credit Unions are also not for profit, and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of credit union members.




Q: What types of credit cards do you provide?

A: Harbor Pointe Credit Union has two credit card options:

Classic Visa with Rewards with a low fixed rate, no annual fee, 25 day grace period and an incentive program called Score Card. Earn a Score Card point for each dollar spent, collect points for airline travel, car rentals, hotel stays, gift cards and quality merchandise. Points do not expire making saving even better!

Premier Black Visa card with a low fixed rate, no annual fee and 25 day grace period.

We do not charge a balance transfer fee to roll your higher rate credit cards to one of our low rate credit card options.

We also offer Share Secured and Share Secured Student Visa cards. No credit check is needed on share secured Visa cards.

Q: What is the difference between an ATM Card and a Debit Card?

A: ATM cards can only be used to get cash from an ATM machine. Debit cards allow you to get cash from an ATM machine or make point of sale purchases at merchants. Many merchants also offer cash back when you make a purchase and there is no fee to do this.




Q: Can I transfer higher rate credit card balances to my credit union credit card?

A: Yes, we can help you with transferring higher balance credit cards to your Harbor Pointe Credit Union Visa card. We do not charge a balance transfer fee.




Q: Are there cash advance checks that come with the Visa credit card?

A: No.
